2015 State Of Origin Game 3 Team Lists

June 30th, 2015

The State Of Origin 2015 Game 3 decider is scheduled for Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane next Wednesday night, July 8, and the team lists for the final clash between the Queensland Maroons and New South Wales Blues for another series are now out.

On Monday afternoon Maroons’ coach Mal Meninga named a new-look Queensland squad as his team looks to salute as the current $1.63 favourites through Ladbrokes.com.au in their State Of Origin betting markets.

Queensland won eight straight series leading into last year when the Blues fought back and scored an upset with victories in the opening two games before going down in Game 3.

This season it was Queensland kicking off with a win in Sydney before a hit-and-miss effort saw them go down in Game 2 at the MCG setting up the must-win at home for the third clash.

Meninga was forced to make some tough decisions in regards to who he backs and sacks in the Queensland State Of Origin team for game three this year.

Cooper Cronk, who put in one of the best individual performances during the team’s Game 1 victory, was ruled out of Game 2 three weeks ago with a knee injury but returns next week, Meninga happy to name the No. 7 despite him not having played any footy since.

His return has seen Manly playmaker Daly Cherry-Evans dropped form the squad, his lackluster performance in the second game doing him no favours for a recall.

Instead on the bench for Queensland is Michael Morgan, the versatile player coming into the backline along with Origin debutant Dane Gagai.

Newcastle’s Gagai will be out on the wing in his opening appearance for Queensland with Greg Inglis moving into the position of fullback after the season-ending shoulder injury and subsequent surgery for Melbourne Storm’s Billy Slater.

Also out with injury is Brisbane prop Josh McGuire who did his Achilles in the Broncos’ nice 44 – 22 victory over the Knights last Friday night.

On the bench for McGuire is the experienced Canberra Raider Josh Papalii, while his club teammate Edrick Lee has been named as 18th man.

Blues’ coach Laurie Daley knows despite the Game 2 win his boys have a tough assignment in the do-or-die State Of Origin decider up in Queensland next week and hopes the possible loss of hooker Robbie Farah won’t end their chances of back-to-back series’ wins.

New South Wales are the underdogs in the markets at Ladbrokes.com.au at a current quote of $2.25 to get the job done, and Daley has named the exact same 17 that got the better of the Maroons last time out.

While the line-up is the same on paper at this stage, Farah could come out as he fights against the clock to recover from a hand fracture he suffered during the Tigers’ loss to Penrith in Round 16.

Shadow players joining the Blues in camp at Coffs Harbour this week not officially named on the side are Josh Reynolds and Ryan Hinchcliffe, time to decide the exact make-up of the New South Wales team.

Over 13 State Of Origin betting markets are open at Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of Game 3 making now the time to sign-up with the country’s premier bookie!
